Today, Friday the 13th, October, 2006, we, the Adempiere Bazaar submit to the world, its first ever ‘Compiere’ Open Source ERP/CRM that is completely open and free.
As we have stated in our Charter, we are a friendly fork that emits from the Compiere ERP/CRM Community for the sole purpose of maintaining and advancing independence in the whole application suite and stack, free from proprietary constraints and limitations.
That also means in providing a migration tool (contributed by Karsten Thiemann), open documentation such as the User Manual (by Carlos Ruiz and Alejandro Falcone), Database Independence such as PostGreSQL (done by Victor Perez), Oracle XE support (by Trifon Trifonov) and an Open Bazaar, as with the existence of this SourceForge project.
Victor Perez also contributed the Izpak installer for fast and automatic install of Adempiere/Postgres/Linux. We have also great work from Goanookie and Pelgrim on the dumps, images, some rearchitecting and combing the minefields in the apps.
Ramiro Vergara managed well this entire Friday the 13th episod and has issued a press statement on behalf of the project.
On behalf of the bazaar and community, besides those named above, I like to give special thanks to you all as the community, anyone who has directly and indirectly involved in this project release, many of whom worked tirelessly round the clock for it.
Rest assured that with such a community behind us, this project shall grow and continue to give the best support to newbies and adopters worldwide.
